How long will many of us be working from home? No one knows but it doesn’t appear that we’ll be rushing back to our workplaces soon.
With that in mind, here are a few practical actions you can take to avoid going stir crazy while working remotely.
Host a virtual hangout
Since you can’t go out with friends, invite them in. No, not to your house. Your computer. Platforms like Zoom allow groups to virtually get together to share a few beers or soda and talk about what’s going on in their lives. Some businesses are hosting virtual seminars or consultations to stay in touch with customers.
Make your own face mask
If you’re planning to head to the grocery store or pharmacy, consider wearing a mask for protection. While medical-grade versions should be reserved for front-line health-care workers, anyone can make a face-covering that provides some peace of mind. You probably already have most of the materials you’ll need to make one.
Plant a vegetable garden
While this isn’t the apocalypse, it doesn’t hurt to be a little self-sufficient. Try putting a few plants in the ground. Easy-to-grow crops in Arizona include sugar-snap peas, green beans, radishes, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, onions and carrots. April isn’t too late to get started. Just make sure you don’t let much time slip past before planting.
Clean your space
Working from home makes it even more important to keep your living space clean. No one wants to exist in a messy environment. Plus, with gyms closed, it’s a productive way to work up a good sweat.
