Let’s Work Together!

Let’s face it, we’re easily bored. If your social media is suffering from a case of the dulls, we’ve compiled three content ideas to liven up your feed and reconnect with your audience. And these are all ideas you can execute today, so no excuses!

Cinemagraphs

True, animated GIFs can be eye-catching but why not take your engagement boost to the next level with a cinemagraph? A cinemagraph has the same file format as a GIF; however, rather than a series of images playing in a loop, it’s a static image with movement in one part of the frame. This technique of blending the effects of images and videos was introduced by a New York fashion photographer Jamie Beck, in collaboration with motion graphics designer Kevin Burg. Just like royalty-free images, you can purchase cinemagraphs or you can make your own. Check out this tutorial by Benjamin Jenks How To Make A Cinemagraph for Photoshop Newbies for step-by-step instructions using Photoshop.

User-Generated Content

Make your customers the heroes of your social media feed (and show you’re listening) by highlighting what they’re sharing featuring your products or business. Content strategy tidbit: This technique works especially well on Instagram. How do you do it? When you spot an online community member’s image you’d like to use, reach out to them privately for their permission and make sure to give credit by mentioning the user when you share the post.

In the same vein, social media contests are an excellent idea to engage and involve your community of followers and generate a lot of content and buzz. You might even try to tie your photo contest with the launch of a product to encourage early adoption. Win-win!

Inspirational Phrases, Quotes and Taglines

Online course creation platform Teachable’s Instagram feed is full of its “Everything is Teachable” tagline, while Daily Health Post’s Facebook page has share-worthy quotes. This kind of visual engagement can stimulate and boost your brand. Luckily, they’re quick and easy to make: pick a background photo and add text. Voila – instant inspiration.
